Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine and one of the biggest cities in Europe . It has been standing on steep hills overlooking the Dnipro River for more than 1500 years. According to the ancient legend, Kyiv was founded by tree Viking brothers Kyi, Schek and Khoryv, and their sister Lybid and it was named after the eldest brother Kyi. Since then Kyiv has developed into a valuable center of East Europe attracting foreign businesses and investors to its to its economic and natural potential. As an important administrative center Kyiv is a place for Ukrainian Presidential administration, Supreme Council, Parliament, and nearly all ministries and governmental departments. We will start the tour from the modern gothic St. Nicholas cathedral and proceed to the oldest Volodymyrska street by the unique red colored Shevchenko University main building , Opera house, visit the Golden Gate and learn why the gate is called Golden. You will visit St. Sophia cathedral with its unique mosaics an frescos dated by 1037. Mykhailyvska Square and its pearl the St. Michael’s cathedral with the most beautiful paintings inside. We’ll go down Andriyvska descent and you will hear some Kyiv curious mysteries. Then you’ll explore Podil district: the city’s trade and business area. Picturesque Dnipro riverside will lead you to the Statue of Motherland (a Ukrainian version of the Statue of Independence). You will be offered to climb the statue itself. (tour price does not include the fee for that). Below the statue you will see all possible weapons of the Soviet Union weapon rash. Then we’ll drive by the unique Lavra cave monastery; take a short walk near the Supreme council and see the only palace in Kiev the Mariynskiy palace. Then you will see the National bank, President’s office and a miraculous building next to it. We finish our tour on Khreschatic street and the main Independence square . |

This walking route offers you to walk on the oldest street in Kyiv. We’ll stand on the basement of the oldest orthodox church in Ukraine and see a great panoramic view of the city from that hill. You will pass by the marvelous Ukrainian Baroque St. Andrew’s church, a place of secret dates and romantic marriages. You will see tons of souvenirs and maybe choose something for your family there. We’ll climb the Witch hill. Then we’ll pass by Mikhail Bulgakov museum: house #13, needless to say there will be mysterious stories there. We’ll see Richard’s castle and you will hear ghost stories of the house. There are numerous inexpensive Ukrainian food cafes on the street so if you get tired on the way we’ll be able to take some rest right in the middle of the street. The territory of the lower city is full of churches. If you wish we can even look at the house of an American ambassador that is very close to the bottom of the St Andrew’s descent. And then finish our tour on the Hospitable square. |

This is one of the most interesting and informative walking tours. It offers you to visit a thousand year old monastery, see its wonderful churches and museums. We’ll go to the micro-miniature museum to see unbelievable masterpieces of human craft. There is a museum of book writing so you will be offered to travel back in time and appreciate the efforts of ancient scholars. The monastery is not only a museum, but also is a place for religious pilgrimage. You can visit the catacombs with the relics of monks who founded the monastery. Their bodies were not mummified and despite the long time they did not decompose there. At the end of the tour you can look for your name patron icon as a pocket talisman. this is the tour to the World war 2 museum and artillery park. You be able to see the frozen events of the WW2 and trace the life paths of many average Ukrainians. You will also be offered to climb the statue of Ukraine the Motherland and enjoy the city view from the top of her shield. As we get down we will visit the open air show of military vehicles, boats and aircrafts. You will even be able to sit in a war cargo airplane and see a film about it’s glorious pilot.
